Chrissy Symone

Artist Journey

Chrissy Symone (krIsi sI'moʊn) is a folk/ singer-songwriter acoustic artist with elements of pop and blues. The time Symone sang Elvis Presley's ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ with a child’s plastic blow-up guitar in third grade, was the moment she knew she had discovered a passion for performing.  Born in the state of Georgia and raised in Austin, Texas, Symone began performing in 2009 when she joined her elementary school’s choir program. She started writing original songs in 2016 and exclusively shared these songs with family and friends. Her unique style, indie-soul, was formed over the last 7 years of writing music. The soul quality of Chrissy's voice was heavily influenced by Adele and John Legend in her early years. When she came across Dodie Clark, Shawn Mendes, and Ed Sheeran, elements of folk and pop were incorporated into her music.

For Symone, songwriting remained a hobby while pursuing a degree in Economics at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. She dropped out in 2019 and took one year off before deciding to pursue music at the University of North Texas in the quaint city of Denton. Chrissy began touring local open mic scenes throughout Dallas and Austin, TX in 2021.

Symone’s first single, ‘March 14’, released in 2023, showcased “her delicate delivery, poignant lyricism, and effortless ability to navigate intervals and registers”, as expressed by Jack Anderson at KUTX 98.9. He goes on to say, this “makes Chrissy one of the most slept on artists in the Live Music Capital”.

Chrissy Symone’s upcoming EP explores the harsh realities of losing oneself to external factors and regaining the confidence to reveal the authentic self that was buried under a false persona. Sign up to her mailing list to get exclusive content, discounts, and exciting updates for the new EP.
